Tensions between Russia and Georgia

As reported by VOA News:

Georgian military forces have fought their way into the capital of the breakaway region of South Ossetia.

Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili said Friday he had ordered an all-out offensive to regain control of the breakaway area.

Georgian tanks and troops, backed by artillery, have moved into the region and surrounded the capital Tskhinvali, where they are battling Russian-backed separatists for control of the city’s center. South Ossetian officials say 15 people were killed in the fighting.

I have to ask: Why has The White House, NATO and the EU not stepped in to help the people of South Ossetian? All they want is liberty and freedom, right?

    ‘What goes around comes around’

Georgia strongly backed the illegal US invasion of Iraq and sent 2000 troops to the region. Now its crying for help from the international community and called the Russian intervention to protect its citizens “aggression”.

You are on your own suckers. Theres no international community when the big boys attack or eat smaller fish. “The international community” only targets small countries like Iran, Iraq and so forth with sanctions and threats.

    Im LOVING IT.

Georgia will withdraw its entire 2,000-strong military contingent from Iraq within the next three days to help battle South Ossetian separatist rebels, a senior Georgian military official said Saturday

    Very good news indeed.

I think this is the answer:

“You are on your own suckers. Theres no international community when the big boys attack or eat smaller fish. “The international community” only targets small countries like Iran, Iraq and so forth with sanctions and threats.”

Guess we don’t have any oil interests there.

No, i disagree, Kim. Its not the oil. The US is a bully and a coward country who is AFRAID OF THE BIG BOYS, like Russia and China. Americans only take on small defensless countries. Remember when the Chinese held our airmen hostage for a few days and wouldnt release them until the spineless, coward bush begged and apologized 3 times to China.

I hope Russia either completely level Georgia or take back into their column.

Georgia deserves whats happening to them.

This is really very sad, though. More dead children and ruined lives, all the while the big boys play with their guns.

Besides pride it all seems to have to do with oil pipe lines. Seems Georgia is working on a pipeline that would loosen Russia’s control on the oil flowing from Turkmenistan.
